Job Description:

Hospital Consulting Company is seeking a VB6/VBA Programmer to assist in the development of an existing Access Data Project.  All Access applications utilize MS Access 2000 front end and MS SQL Server back end databases. 

Skills and Experience required for this position:

Candidate must have extensive knowledge writing in VB6/VBA, understanding of relational databases and ability to create stored procedures along with the following requirements. 

-        B.S. degree in Computer Science or relevant degree/certifications preferred but not required

-        2+ years programming in VB6/VBA

-        2+ years SQL Server 2000 utilizing stored procedures in Access 2000 or VB6

-        Access 2000 or Crystal report design

-        Generation of application and ETL code using VB6, VBA for Microsoft Access 2000/2002/2003, VBA for Excel 2000/2002/2003, VBScript, and ActiveX Data Objects (ADO)

-        Generation of complex queries, stored procedures, and functions using Transact-SQL (T-SQL) for SQL Server 2000

-        Ability to transform datasets stored in text files, XML files, and hierarchical flat files into tabular datasets

-        Ability to quickly test and debug code, identify potential problems, and patch or revise code to eliminate problems encountered in production

-        Ability to translate oral or written instructions regarding requested application design changes into working code

Additional programming languages such as JAVA, VB.net, C#, XML, etc. could increase earning potential.
